Fluid-structure interaction based optimisation in tidal turbines: A perspective review

Occurrences such as the global climate change have presented critical challenges to humanity and necessitated studies into how greenhouse gas emissions can be minimized. One practical solution is generation of power from renewable sustainable sources; hence, tidal current energy which, however, also gives rise concept fluid-structure interaction (FSI). The pressure fluid flow aspects affect structural deformations in turn flow. This paper presents a perspective review FSI based optimisation turbines with focus on low-order aerodynamic, computational dynamics (CFD) modeling. It was acknowledged that, aid amidst issue using or non-renewable sources energy, solutions generating are effective. Tidal found one most reliable but further regarding its practicality advised.
